Joey
Waldrop received
his bachelor of arts in theatre and film studies from the
University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 2007. He also
played basketball for the Bulldogs his freshman and sophomore
years. Go Dawgs!
Since
graduation, Joey has completed one feature film, Deadland
; one sit-com pilot, Dixie
Melodie
; and
one commercial for Coke Zero. He performed in the
inaugural season of the Tennessee Shakespeare Festival as
Snout in A Midsummer
Night's Dream. He
had previously appeared in the same role at the Kingsmen
Shakespeare Festival in Thousand Oaks, California in 2006.
Joey is a member of the
Gallery Players, an improv group based in Peachtree City,
Georgia; and he has co-written and directed murder mystery
dinner theatres as fund raisers for Fayette County Special
Olympics.
Joey is an accomplished stage combatant and
fight choregrapher, having cut his stage-fighting teeth at the
Georgia Renaissance Festival. He also often works behind the
scenes, serving as assistant technical director at the
Tennessee Shakespeare Festival, and working as a crew member
for the Performing Arts Center at the University of Georgia.
He also occasionally serves as stage manager for various
productions.
In his free time, Joey enjoys playing
video games and watching movies.
